My Iceland is a collection of art images by photographers in the small northern icelandic town of Ólafsfjörður. They are art students in the only school offering art photography as course of study in Iceland. Ólafsfjörður is a small community in the northern fjords of Iceland surrounded by rugged mountains. They are eager to show you an Iceland far from the tourist destinations, and close to their heart.

We are pleased to announce that this Wednesday we are beginning to serve coffees from Sightglass Coffee. This San Francisco coffee bar and roastery is owned by two brothers. They do a fantastic job. We will be serving some exciting coffees from them through the end of the year. In particular, we have an Ethiopia that will almost overwhelm your palate, and the Blueboon Blend (our first drip-bar blend offering since this summer). Our espresso offering from them is called Owl’s Howl: it consists of a Costa Rica, an El Salvador and an Ethiopia. It is a big, round and sweet coffee!

Proscuitto Sandwich: prosciutto, provolone and fig spread on a baguette.

Olives: 5-type olive blend, baguette and olive oil (for dipping).

A good coffee roaster is essential to the success of any shop.  While we have worked with an amazing company for the past year who has provided us with some stellar coffees, we have decided to take a different direction.  Beginning this week, we will begin a series of engagements with different roasting companies.  We will continue to rely on the local roaster Moonshine Coffee Company for some of our coffees, while the rest of our coffees will be supplied by another company for about four or six weeks at a time.  The first such roaster is Barismo, out of Arlington, MA.

Why have we decided to do this?  The reason for this is twofold:  1. We want to focus everyone’s attention on the great work that is being done, at the roasting level, throughout the industry.  Each roaster has access to different coffees, and may take a slightly different approach to the craft.  By switching our roasting company often, we are able to give you a taste of the best that this industry has to offer you. 2.  We want to keep our offerings list fresh and exciting.  There are many amazing coffees out there.  We want to give you access to lots of them!

Our coffees may not stick around for long, but we promise they will always be amazing.  Stop on by and see what’s fresh!
